Wajahat Rauf, director of last year’s hit Karachi Se Lahore, is back with a sequel – Lahore Se Aagey, which hits cinemas this Friday, 11th November.  The fabulously funny Yasir Hussain returns as the adorable, stuttering Moti – but this time he is isn’t just a supporting character, he’s the lead! He stars alongside the gorgeous Saba Qamar who plays Tara, an aspiring rockstar with issues of her own.

The film starts the day after Karachi Se Lahore ends, with Moti getting left behind in Lahore. He gets a letter from his Mamu (Behroze Sabzwari) asking him in come to Swat right away as he is about to die and wants to give Moti half his property. His aunty (Rubina Ashraf) isn’t too happy about this and Moti soon finds out that two gangsters nicknamed ‘B’ (Abdullah Farhatullah) and ‘AB’ (Omer Sultan) on his trail trying to kill him. While being chased by these gundas, Moti runs into Tara, a budding singer from Lahore who’s going to Islamabad for the finals of a singing competition. She ends up offering Moti a ride, setting off a rollercoaster of a road-trip full of thrills, spills and comic situations.

Lahore Se Aagey is another road-trip film but while Karachi Se Lahore was essentially about a boys trip,  Lahore Se Aagey brings romance centre-stage. Whereas the KSL focused more on guy humour (despite the romance with Ayesha Omer), the gags in LSA are all centred around the fact that opposites attract. Tara and Moti are an odd couple but the crazy situations they get into on the trip help them understand and appreciate each other.

Wajahat Rauf, who produced and directed both this film and its prequel, comments,

“Like the best road-trip films, Lahore Se Aagey is not just about the journey – it’s about the personal development of the characters. It’s a fantastic story, full of hilarity and energy but you also get to see an emotional side to Moti. Lahore Se Aagey will make you laugh but it will also pull at your heartstrings.”

We can’t wait to see more of Saba Qamar’s thumkas and Yasir Hussain’s incredible comic timing. The movie releases nationwide on 11th November.
